studioquint: nextdoor - temporary interior design

nextdoor is a temporary interior design for the center of amsterdam school of entrepreneurship
(CASE) by studioquint. the proposed brief for the space was to develop 10 permanent work-units
and 40 flexible work areas for the 275 m2 office space. because of the tight budget,
all the furniture and work-units have been assembled by low cost standard door elements.

the starting point of the intervention was based on specific programmatic conditions.
individual students had to develop his own business identity and at the same time all of them
had to orient in complex economical network. all of the work units are white cubes,
differentiated by various interior elements made from back plywood which offer additional
storage spaces and to stabilize the units. by linearly placing the working objects,
a kaleidoscopic effect is created.

cafe la miell by suppose design office is located in the heart of niihama city in ehime.
the old cafe la miell was unable to accommodate large numbers of customers with its
seating capacity,  so plans were made to open up a new cafe  across the street that would
be able to seat eighty.

the client wanted a two story building and to have more parking but more than that they
wanted the building to be a landmark in the area.

for the design they proposed to make use of the fact that the site was - one meter lower
than street level and rather than a two story cafe, make a split level with floors at
the building's own base level and street level,

beams are placed in a rhythmic way which follows the two levels, and are held up with
steel and concrete posts spread out, creating a kind of dialogue between space and structure.
outside, pebbles are spread out on the beam slabs to match the landscape and the distinctive
shape.

very simple chair and floor display....

Andai gue jadi VM lagi ini desain sangat menginspirasi sekali.... damn it.. :)

 takeshi iue

‘habit chair’

takeshi iue is strongly influenced by both traditional and contemporary japanese design. based in adlelaide,
austalia, iue runs his own studio producing furniture and lighting with subtle and minimal forms. during the
state of design festival he showcased a variety of pieces including his autumn stacking stool, bamboo
side tables and black gallery bench. two of the stand out designs included the tripod table lamp made from
solid wood with an LED lighting unit and the geometrical habit chair that was designed with an aesthetic
focus on the backside (since this is what is seen when the chair is tucked into a table).

I love this lamp

sascha bischoff: globo lamp for servei estació

london-based deisgner sascha bischoff recently designed the lightweight portable lamp 'globo'. the piece, produced by servei estació features an over-sized bulb held by a modified bulldog clip.

'globo' won the voilà! awards organized by servei estació organized by servei estació, which challenged designers to create original object from the materials that they produce.

camper bike

kevin cyr: camper bike

artist kevin cyr built this pedal-powered camper for one in april 2008. the camper sits on a modified bike
frame with two back wheel and one up front. the rider sits on the bike and can pedal around, moving the
camper from place to place. inside the camper features all the amenities needed in a small and compact
envelope. the sculptural piece also became a subject in many of cyr’s paintings. the design is perfect for
a solo holiday and will definetly turn some heads along the way.

jadi pengen menjadi kontaktor pronsipal buat hebel nih :)
